Afrobeats star Davido celebrates retaining his Spotify Nigeria Daily Top Songs Chart record, besting Wizkid’s new album ‘Morayo’.

Afrobeats sensation Davido has proudly reaffirmed his dominance on the Spotify Nigeria Daily Top Songs Chart, retaining his record as the only artist to occupy the top 16 spots for two consecutive days.

This achievement, which dates back to his 2022 album Timeless, remains unmatched even with the recent release of Wizkid’s highly anticipated album, Morayo.

Wizkid’s Morayo shattered several streaming records upon its release and garnered widespread acclaim. However, the tracks from the album failed to replicate Davido’s historic streak on the Spotify Nigeria chart.

The milestone was highlighted by The Data Dash, a music-monitoring platform, which posted on X (formerly Twitter):

“@davido remains the only artist to occupy the Top 16 spots on the Spotify Nigeria Daily Top Songs Chart for 2 consecutive days, with all new songs from his album ‘Timeless’.”

In response, Davido reposted the update with a confident declaration, writing, “Remains the only!”

This victory further cements Davido’s position as a leading figure in the global Afrobeats movement, showcasing the enduring appeal of his music and his ability to set new benchmarks in the industry.

Fans have flooded social media to celebrate his continued success, with many hailing his work ethic and talent as unparalleled in the Nigerian music scene.

While Wizkid’s Morayo enjoys its own accolades, Davido’s Timeless continues to stand as a testament to his influence in shaping contemporary Afrobeats.
