The veteran and easy going Nollywood actress, Shan George, isn’t really happy with another player, Femi Branch, in the make-believe industry they both operate in for the latter’s alleged indiscretions.
Recall that the beautiful actress, whose movie career spans over twenty years, recently survived a major spine surgery after battling with a spine disease for seven months.
The ailment, suspected to be Minimally invasive spine, however, brought the media attention to the actress who seemed to prefer a noiseless private life.
After a successful operation, the actress narrated how she feared the process as it was “a very delicate surgery that can render her permanently paralysed for d rest of her life if not properly done.”
She went on to hint that though the surgery was carried out in a hospital in Abuja, the cost ran into several millions of Naira. “…the bill for such surgery runs into millions of naira… I want to say a very big thank u to some good friends and family who went out of their way to support with d huge surgery bill, I will never forget u for supporting instead of looking for lame heartless reasons and excuses not to help. God bless u all immensely,” she said.

I’ve been battling a spine disease for so many months now, in and out of hospital since January 2019, finally I was told d only solution is a spine surgery, a very delicate surgery that can render me permanently paralysed for d rest of my life if not properly done, I was so scared, the bill for such surgery runs into millions of naira. Long story short, I finally did the surgery In a clinic in abuja called Brain and Spine Surgery Consotium, successfully. I want to say a very big thank u to some good friends and family who went out of their way to support with d huge surgery bill, I will never forget u for supporting instead of looking for lame heartless reasons and excuses not to help. God bless u all immensely. Who says Brain, Spine and other delicate Surgeries can’t be done in Nigeria? I’m recuperating fine. Help me thank God. I survived!!
While many Nigerians, especially her fans and colleagues, reached out to her in solidarity during this nightmarish ordeal, one didn’t go down well with Shan.
What Femi Branch would have believed to be a gesture that would be appreciated while thumbing a particular Instagram post turned out to be his worst nightmare as the actress threw it right back in his face.
Problem started when Femi posted on his Instagram handle, appreciating everyone that supported the actress and extended monetary assistance to her.
In the post, Femi published a photo of the president of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, presenting Shan a parcel which was assumed to contain money and wrote:
God bless the @actorsguildofnigeria for coming to the aide of our dear colleague and friend @shangeorgefilms as she recovers from her back surgery. #agnisworking #actorsguildofnigeria
The thespian fired back:
They didn’t come to my aid sir, I am not crying for any aid/help. It’s was just a show of love from the AGN President towards a colleague. Pls oga @chief_femibranch I know say you hate me, but this is more than low. Aid ko, Babiala ni. Pls either correct this wrong impression or just kuku delete this post. Thank you.
Not done, the livid actress announced to all that cared to listen to call Femi to order as she would never tolerate such indiscretion from him. Stating that the actor has never published a positive post about her nor even tried calling to wish her well during operation, but would rather rush to paint her as a beggar.
“This is how low some of you hateful motherfuckers can go. Mr Femi branch you have never posted anything about me on your page on social media, not even my movie poster which u partook in the movie. But u have quickly posted this with the speed of lightening and ofcourse given a total wrong impression of the whole situation to the public. Did u see me cry for aid? Where? My surgery cost me 8million naira which I capably paid for without crying for any aid. Thunder fire u there. May crying for aid be yours and your children’s potion. Demon.
“Abeg make all of una help me tell femi branch to stop his bile for me now! I’ve had enof of Ur display of hatred for me at every little opportunity u can scramble at. Delete that bloody wicked evil post of urs. I no beg u for publicity. God will punish you for me Mr Femi branch. Bloody beggar.”
Shan George’s anger seemed to have been ignited by the fact that she was painted as a destitute begging for assistance.
“I’ve never lived above my means nor claim to have what I don’t have, God helped me that I’ve done my surgery without begging anyone, infact pple didn’t even know I was ill,” she concluded.
The controversial post has, however, been pulled down.
Shan George is also a singer, film producer and director. Born to a Nigerian mum and a British dad in Ediba, a town in Abi local government area of Cross River State, Nigeria, had acted in a 1997 soap opera titled Winds of Destiny before debuting in the movie Thorns of Rose back then.
