A group of Chinese investors from the World Tourism Cities Federation(WTCF) has initiated moves to explore the tourism potentials in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Secretary-General of WTCF, Mr. Chen Bo, who led a delegation of the foreign investors to pay a courtesy visit to the FCT Permanent Secretary, Mr. Christian Ohaa, said his group believed that Abuja, being one of the leading capital cities in Africa, has a lot of tourism potential that were yet untapped.
He said that the aim of the visit was to seek the collaboration of the FCTA in boosting tourism activities in the country.
“We believe tourism industry can be developed in Nigeria and is the foundation for other sectors to be enhance. We have no fewer than 142 members and we will like to use this opportunity to develop other cities economically,” he noted.
Ohaa, who agreed with his guests that Nigeria was endowed with enormous tourism potentials, also noted that Abuja being the Federal Capital was the ” conglomeration of all the tourism potential in the country.”
According to Ohaa, Nigeria’s Nollywood Movie Industry has emerged as the third largest entertainment industry in the world after Hollywood in the United States and Bollywood of India.
Ohaa said that Nigeria had enough potentials that would enable her key into the world tourism federation.
