Speed Darlington Burna Boy feud

Controversial rapper Darlington Achakpo, aka Speed Darlington, has been granted bail after spending nearly a month in police custody. His lawyer, Stanley Alieke, confirmed the news on Monday, stating that the rapper had been released following a court decision, though he provided minimal details regarding the case.

Speed Darlington was arrested on November 27 during a performance in Owerri, Imo State, following allegations tied to his public comments about Afrofusion star Burna Boy.

The rapper had mocked Burna Boy’s connection to U.S. music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who is facing serious legal challenges related to sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

Darlington’s other lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed that Burna Boy’s influence had played a role in the rapper’s arrest.

Adeyanju also stated that Darlington would either be charged or granted bail within 48 hours, a promise that was upheld as the court granted his release.

Despite his time in custody, Speed Darlington remains defiant, vowing to continue his public criticisms of Burna Boy and stand by his controversial statements.
