Congratulatory messages are pouring in for actress, Toyin Abraham as she bags an international award.

The talented actress and filmmaker who is currently in Canada, was honored with a prestigious award.

Toyin was one of the attendees at African Canada Investment award dinner, where she received an award.

Taking to her Instagram to share the good news, she wrote,

Toyin Abraham bags award from Lagos government

Toyin Abraham had received an award of recognition by the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The award was in commemoration of 2022 International women’s day.

Some female Nollywood stars such as Mo Abudu, Adunni Ade, Adebimpe Oyebade and Toyin Abraham received the award for their trailblazing works, inspiring young girls, including women and outstanding contributions towards building a greater Lagos.

Toyin Abraham took to her Instagram page to express appreciation to the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and prayed for the State like other Nollywood stars.

This earned Toyin Abraham criticisms as many fans stormed her comment section, claiming she had been bought and will avoid speaking against the current administration of Sanwo-Olu.
Toyin snubbed from AMVCA award

Actress, Toyin Abraham had spoken out on why she didn’t make the nominee list for the 2022 African Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

The actress revealed this while answering a fan’s query on why she was ignored by the academy.

The fan wrote : “Ma pls I’m saying respectfully and I’m sorry for saying this @toyin_abraham I don’t seems to get why you are not getting any nominations for the amicable award we all need an explanation as a fan pls”.

Surprisingly, Toyin Abraham responded by setting the records straight.

She revealed that she didn’t submit her movie The Ghost and The Tout Too to the academy and at such her movie was disqualified.

Toyin Abraham took time out in explaining that only movies submitted to the academy had an opportunity to contest for nominations.

She reminded the fan that she won an award last year which was enough for her.

Toyin Abraham further urged the fan to focus on this year’s nominees and to give them their utmost support.
