Unlike previous retellings of the tragic event, the feature-length documentary, executive produced by Nollywood veteran Joke Silva, follows the everyday lives of the mothers.

It captures their struggles to rebuild amid ongoing insecurity while supporting the education of their remaining children.

Speaking on her involvement, Silva highlighted the importance of showing stories often overlooked in public discourse.

She noted that the emotional and economic journeys of the mothers remain largely unseen, despite the global attention sparked by the BringBackOurGirls movement.

Benson described “Mothers of Chibok” as a continuation of his earlier work, “Daughters of Chibok”, expanding the narrative beyond the moment of crisis to focus on long-term survival and community strength.
