Passport [Movie Snippet]

Spoilt rich kid Oscar (Jim Iyke) has come to Lagos from London to propose to his long-term girlfriend but has to return to London the next day to see his ailing mother on her birthday. His troubles start when his bag containing his passport is stolen from him in the ghetto. To retrieve his bag, he has to employ the help of street-smart tomboy Kopiko (Mercy Johnson), who is locked in a political battle with Terminator (Zubby Michael), the chairman of her local government.

Tunde Kelani’s ‘Dazzling Mirage’ debuts on Netflix

The 2014 award-winning movie titled, Dazzling Mirage, by the prolific filmmaker, Tunde Kelani has premiered on the global streaming platform, Netflix.

The film, which is an adaptation of Olayinka Abimbola Egbokhare’s novel of the same title, was made into a motion picture by Ade Solanke. It features the likes of Kemi Lala Akindoju and the project was her breakout lead role.

The film tells the tale of Funmiwo, a young sickle cell anaemia carrier dealing with the societal and physical challenges influenced by the condition.

Kelani’s film premiered in cinemas to critical acclaim with Akindoju winning the AMVCA’s Trailblazer award in 2016. Akindoju’s performance was so well-received that she had to deny rumours that she was hired for the part because she had the sickle cell disease.

The film also stars Bimbo Manuel, Kunle Afolayan, Yomi Fash Lanso, Taiwo Ajayi-Lycett, Seun Akindele and Aderounmu Adejumoke.
