‘Aba Blues’ box office debut earns N19.9M, drawing large audiences nationwide

Nigerian romantic film Aba Blues recorded a remarkable N19.9 million at the box office during its opening weekend, according to distributor FilmOne Entertainment.

The milestone follows the nationwide release, attracting cinema audiences across Nigeria.

Set in 1989 Aba, shortly after the Nigerian Civil War, the movie follows Amara, portrayed by Angel Anosike, whose marriage faces challenges with the return of her former boyfriend.

The story explores themes of love, ambition, and nostalgia, resonating with viewers.

In a statement on its official Instagram page, FilmOne Entertainment expressed gratitude for the support received.

“Thank you Nigeria for a great opening weekend,” the company said, urging more cinema-goers to watch the film.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Aba Blues has generated growing interest among movie lovers, contributing to its strong debut performance.
