Adewale Ayuba announces new album "Isé Olúwa" for Democracy Day

Legendary Fuji musician Adewale Ayuba, popularly known as “Mr. Johnson,” is set to release a new album titled “Isé Olúwa” in honour of this year’s Democracy Day celebration.

Ayuba shared this news with the Nollytrailers on Wednesday in Lagos.

He revealed that the four-track album, scheduled for release on June 14, aims to address and soothe Nigerians amid current economic challenges.

“One of the tracks, ‘Humility,’ highlights that Nigeria is not a failed nation. The recurring slogan ‘Nigeria ko wo’ in the song means ‘Nigeria has not collapsed,’” he explained.

Ayuba noted that the song is intended to reassure listeners that the nation will overcome the current economic difficulties and eventually return to better times.

“The tracks in the Isé Olúwa album include: ‘Humility,’ ‘Jo’folorun,’ ‘Jafo Authority,’ and ‘Bonsue On The Go USA.’ I created this album to offer advice to Nigerians.

“We must remember that we elected a Nigerian president, not someone from another country. We should exercise patience, support the government, and work towards positive change.

“These economic challenges didn’t start today, and no one can say President Bola Tinubu isn’t making an effort. We must consistently pray for our leaders to receive divine assistance.

“I also stress the importance of showing love, which Yoruba people call ‘Ife Eleyele’—a unique love that ensures we don’t abandon our neighbours, friends, and relatives in times of difficulty.

“Exhibiting this kind of love will lead to a more harmonious society,” he added.

Ayuba announced that the album will be available on all music distribution platforms upon release.

He urged his fans worldwide to anticipate the release and be ready to find inspiration in the songs.

Stressing the need for love and unity, the Bonsue crooner called on Nigerians to set aside tribal, religious, and political differences to progress as a nation.
