Fans remember Alexis Ortega, Mexican Spider-Man voice actor, who died at 38, celebrating his lasting impact on film and voice acting

Alexis Ortega, the Mexican voice actor best known for dubbing Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in Spanish, has died at the age of 38, World Dubbing News reported on Tuesday.

The platform confirmed the news and offered condolences to Ortega’s family, friends, and colleagues.

The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Born in 1987, Alexis Ortega began his acting career in 2013, initially appearing on screen before transitioning to voice work.

He became widely recognised for giving Spider-Man a distinctive Spanish voice in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War.

Ortega also lent his voice to several Disney films, including Big Hero 6 and Star Wars: Rogue One, and collaborated with YouTube creator MrBeast on Spanish-language versions of his content.

Fans quickly turned to social media to celebrate Ortega’s work. “Sad news. Way too young at 38. Rest in peace, Alexis,” wrote user Ilman on X. Rechardo added: “Alexis Ortega brought Spider-Man to life for so many fans.

Rest in peace.” Many highlighted the emotional connection his voice created with audiences, praising his ability to breathe life into beloved characters.

Ortega’s on-screen appearances included Luis Miguel: The Series, Thursday’s Widows, El Candidato, and The House of Flowers.

His final Instagram post, shared in November 2025, showed him at home in Mexico City with his dog, captioned simply: “My doggo.”

Colleagues described Ortega as a vibrant talent whose contributions will be remembered long after his passing.

“It’s truly a loss when a voice brings so much life to characters we love,” wrote Victor online.
