Nollywood actor and former lawmaker Bob-Manuel Udokwu has explained his decision to maintain a low profile on social media, saying he prefers to stay away from what he describes as online noise and observe discussions quietly.

Bob-Manuel Udokwu made the remarks in a post shared on his Instagram page on Friday, 29 May 2026, where he reflected on how social media conversations in Nigeria have evolved over time.

According to Bob-Manuel Udokwu, many trending topics online often bear little relevance to the daily struggles of ordinary people, yet they still attract significant attention, consuming both time and data.

He also noted that the online space has become increasingly dominated by trolling and insults, describing it as an exhausting environment for meaningful engagement.

The actor said this reality influenced his decision to remain on the sidelines, choosing instead to read discussions without actively participating in most cases.

“Social media has become something else in Nigeria,” Bob-Manuel Udokwu wrote. “Too much dragging and trolling everywhere.”

However, he added that due to popular demand, he may become more active in posting and engaging with his fans going forward, a remark that has sparked reactions among his followers.
