Nollywood actor Godwin Nnadiekwe alleges he escaped a ritual plot and urges filmmakers to be cautious about their professional relationships

Nollywood actor Godwin Nnadiekwe has raised concerns about safety in the Nigerian film industry, alleging that he narrowly escaped an attempt to use him for ritual purposes.

The actor shared the claim on his Instagram Story, where he spoke about what he described as a hidden and troubling side of Nollywood.

According to Nnadiekwe, the alleged incident occurred after an encounter with another actor, but he said the attempt failed due to his strong spiritual beliefs and personal foundation.

The actor warned colleagues in the industry to be more careful about the people they associate with and the professional relationships they build.

He also questioned the level of protection available to creatives, urging industry stakeholders to prioritise safety, accountability and ethical standards.

“Nollywood’s dark side is real, and no Guild is coming to save you. Vet your circles, guard your energy, protect your space and know who you work with,” he wrote.

Nnadiekwe called for more discussions about the welfare and security of actors, stressing that filmmakers deserve an environment where their safety is taken seriously.

He encouraged creatives to remain vigilant and pay attention to those around them while working in the entertainment industry.
