Nigerian Military Reportedly Eliminates Notorious Bandit Commander Kachalla Hare in Zamfara

Kachalla Hare killed, Zamfara has been reported as the Nigerian military eliminated the notorious bandit commander during an encounter with security forces in Zamfara State.

According to reports, Kachalla Hare, who had been terrorising communities around Mada in Gusau Local Government Area and parts of neighbouring Bungudu Local Government Area, was killed in the operation.

The development was disclosed by Bakatsine, a journalist who reports on conflicts in North-West Nigeria, in a post on X.

Reports indicate that Hare and his fighters engaged security operatives near Gusami village, located between Bungudu and Gusau. The encounter resulted in the deaths of several bandits.

Hare was reportedly captured during the encounter after sustaining serious injuries. He was said to have been found with ammunition in his possession and later died from his injuries in the early hours of Wednesday.

There had been earlier speculation that Hare was killed following the elimination of one of his associates days earlier, but those reports could not be immediately confirmed at the time.

His reported death comes amid sustained military operations against bandit groups operating across Zamfara and other parts of the North-West.

The Nigerian military has intensified its offensive against terrorist and bandit groups in the region, targeting several commanders in recent months.

Kachalla Hare was known for his activities in the affected local government areas, where bandit groups have continued to pose security challenges to residents and communities.

Security sources and conflict reporters have been monitoring operations in the North-West as troops press on with efforts to dismantle bandit networks.

The reported elimination of Kachalla Hare adds to a series of recent actions against high-profile bandit commanders in Zamfara State.
