Kebbi Reports Strong 2027 Hajj Registration

Kebbi State has reported strong participation in preparations for the 2027 Hajj, with the state saying it has remitted ₦21.5 billion towards the pilgrimage and recorded a 95 per cent registration rate among intending pilgrims.

The figures place Kebbi among the states recording the strongest early participation in preparations for the 2027 pilgrimage, according to the state’s reported Hajj arrangements.

The state government said the high registration rate reflects the commitment of intending pilgrims to securing their places early and completing the financial requirements for the pilgrimage.

The reported ₦21.5 billion remittance is expected to cover the state’s obligations relating to the organisation of the pilgrimage, including payments associated with the arrangements required for Nigerian pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia.

The development comes as preparations for the 2027 Hajj gather momentum across Nigeria. The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria is responsible for coordinating and regulating Hajj operations involving Nigerian pilgrims, while state pilgrims’ welfare boards handle registration and other state-level arrangements.

The 2027 Hajj is expected to take place in May 2027, with the pilgrimage falling between May 8 and June 5 according to the Islamic calendar conversion.

Kebbi’s reported 95 per cent registration rate would represent a significant level of participation at this stage of preparations, particularly as intending pilgrims are being encouraged to register and make the required payments early.

Early registration is important because Hajj arrangements involve several stages, including pilgrim documentation, accommodation, transportation, airlift arrangements and compliance with requirements set by the Saudi authorities.

The state’s reported remittance also underscores the financial commitment involved in organising the pilgrimage for thousands of intending pilgrims.

However, the specific figures of ₦21.5 billion and 95 per cent should be attributed to the Kebbi authorities until they are independently confirmed by NAHCON or another authoritative source.

With preparations continuing, intending pilgrims are expected to complete outstanding registration and payment requirements ahead of the deadlines set by the relevant authorities.
