Lateef Adedimeji speaks after a viral video of Mo Bimpe and Jide Awobona sparks reactions, urging fans to ignore social media noise

Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has addressed the online reaction to a viral video involving his wife, actress Mo Bimpe, and their colleague Jide Awobona, urging social media users to protect their mental well-being from unnecessary noise.

Lateef shared the message on social media on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, days after footage of Mo Bimpe and Awobona chatting at a movie premiere generated speculation about the nature of their interaction.

“Guard your mental space from social media noise, own your focus, and stay undefeated,” the actor wrote.

Lateef’s post came after Mo Bimpe had already responded to the criticism surrounding the video, in which she was seen seated between her husband and Awobona during content creator Folagade Banks’ movie premiere.

The brief clip showed Mo Bimpe engaged in a lively conversation with Awobona while Lateef sat beside her.

The footage quickly gained traction online, with some viewers interpreting Lateef’s demeanour as discomfort and questioning the interaction between his wife and the actor.

Mo Bimpe subsequently pushed back against the speculation, arguing that a short video had been taken out of context and subjected to unnecessary scrutiny.

The actress maintained that her marriage was not built around fear, insecurity or constant monitoring between partners.

She also described Lateef as a secure man and said that speaking with Awobona, whom she regards as a family friend, posed no threat to their relationship.

Lateef’s latest message appears to echo his wife’s position without directly addressing the specific claims made by social media users.

Rather than engage with the speculation, the actor focused on the broader impact of online commentary, encouraging people to take control of what they allow to occupy their minds.

The timing of the message has nevertheless drawn attention, given the intense discussion that followed the viral clip.

Lateef and Mo Bimpe, who have established themselves as one of Nollywood’s prominent celebrity couples, have previously attracted public interest because of their relationship and professional careers.

The latest episode has once again placed their marriage in the spotlight, although neither actor has suggested that the viral exchange affected their relationship.
