The sequel premiered on May 2, 2026, on Uche Montana TV and immediately attracted massive online attention, underlining the growing commercial power of digital streaming platforms in Nollywood.

The film gained impressive traction within hours of release, recording about 1.2 million views in four hours. The numbers climbed beyond 4 million within 12 hours before crossing 6 million during its first full day online.

By May 7, the emotionally charged sequel had exceeded 15 million views. A check on Friday morning confirmed the film had reached 15,838,007 views on YouTube.

Reacting to the milestone, Uche Montana expressed appreciation to fans and supporters across the world.

“I’m honestly overwhelmed with gratitude. What started as an idea, a vision, and a risk has turned into something far bigger than I imagined,” she said.

The actress added that the audience’s emotional connection to the story had made the project especially rewarding.

“Every view, comment, repost, message, and word of support means more than you know. Thank you for laughing, crying, reacting, debating, and growing with these characters and this story,” she stated.

Monica 2 continues the story of Monica as she struggles with family tensions and the realities of married life.

Blessing Onwukwe portrays Monica’s mother, while Joseph Momodu stars as her husband in a performance widely praised by viewers. John Ekanem also features in the production.

Audiences have applauded the sequel for its relatable themes, emotional depth, and compelling storytelling. Many viewers highlighted its exploration of family conflict, personal growth, and boundary-setting as key reasons behind its viral success.

The latest achievement builds on the success of the original Monica, which also generated millions of views earlier this year.
