Omotola Ekeinde receives Social Impact and Lifetime Social Impact honours after donating film earnings to education for underserved children

Nollywood actress Omotola Ekeinde has received Social Impact and Lifetime Social Impact honours in recognition of her philanthropic efforts, days after announcing plans to donate film earnings towards the education of children from underserved communities.

Ekeinde announced the recognition on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in a social media post thanking the organisers for honouring her work and expressing gratitude for the opportunity to combine her career with social impact.

According to the actress, she received both a Social Impact Award and a Lifetime Social Impact Recognition from Israel Tribune and 90210 Enterprise.

Ekeinde described the recognition as a meaningful acknowledgement of her efforts to use her platform and resources to support communities in need.

The honour follows her decision to direct earnings from her movie project, Mother’s Love: The Movie, towards education initiatives for children from underserved communities.

The actress said the decision was partly inspired by Makoko, a Lagos community that featured among the backgrounds of the film.

“When I decided to donate our entire producers’ earnings from Mother’s Love: The Movie to the education of children from underserved communities such as Makoko, which was one of the backgrounds of our movie, little did I know how many it would resonate with, touch, or be watched by,” Ekeinde said.

She added that the gesture had continued to inspire her after receiving a positive response from the public.

“Our little act of obedience has continued to inspire me,” she said.

Ekeinde also expressed appreciation for the recognition, describing it as a joint first honour from the two organisations.

“Honoured to receive both a Social Impact Award and a Lifetime Social Impact recognition from both the Israel Tribune and @90210enterprise, a joint first recognition by them. Thank you!”

The actress said her philanthropic work had given her another dimension through which to use her career for social good.

“I am truly grateful to God to be able to do what I love and give back through it,” she added.

Ekeinde’s latest recognition comes as she continues to draw attention not only for her work in Nollywood but also for initiatives aimed at supporting education and vulnerable communities.
