Ronke Oshodi has criticised Temitope Osoba’s fiancé over alleged abandonment, questioning their long relationship and the circumstances before her death

Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi has criticised the fiancé of late Yoruba actress Temitope Osoba over alleged abandonment, questioning his commitment to their long-term relationship before Osoba’s death.

Oshodi made the comments during a live video in which she expressed anger over claims surrounding the relationship and the circumstances Osoba allegedly faced towards the end of her life.

The actress questioned why Osoba and the man remained together for years without getting married, particularly given the length of their relationship.

Oshodi also alleged that the relationship changed after Osoba experienced financial difficulties.

According to her, Osoba’s partner did not ask her to leave when she allegedly had substantial money in her account, but later asked her to leave when her financial situation deteriorated.

“I think she had 30m or 20m in her account. When the money finished, you now said she should pack out and pretend as if you guys are not dating. What sort of pretence is that?” Oshodi said.

The actress further questioned the man’s alleged response to Osoba’s smoking habit.

“She was with you smoking for two years, and you didn’t chase her when you noticed she was smoking,” she added.

Oshodi went on to make a highly critical remark about the man, calling him “the devil” while accusing him of abandoning Osoba.

The allegations have not been independently established, and the fiancé has not, in the material available, publicly responded to Oshodi’s claims.

Osoba’s death has already prompted an outpouring of grief within the Yoruba film community. Several colleagues had previously rallied around the actress during her battle with breast cancer.

In November 2024, actress Foluke Daramola and actor Alesh Sanni publicly sought financial support for Osoba after she underwent surgery for breast cancer.

Daramola said Osoba’s family and friends had contributed towards the initial treatment but that further assistance was needed for her recovery.

Osoba later announced her return to acting after recovering from the illness.

In August 2025, she described the experience as a turning point and said she wanted to use her platform to encourage others facing similar health challenges.

The actress had also marked her 40th birthday in December 2025, reflecting on surviving cancer and describing the milestone as a victory after years of uncertainty.

Her death has therefore come as a particularly painful development for colleagues who had supported her through her health battle and subsequent return to the industry.

Oshodi’s intervention has now added a contentious personal dimension to the mourning, with her allegations likely to fuel further discussion about Osoba’s final years and her relationship.

For now, however, the claims remain allegations, and any account from Osoba’s fiancé would be important in establishing his perspective on the relationship and the circumstances described by Oshodi.
