Shaffy Bello made the remarks while appearing on the Moraya Show, where she discussed survival choices and financial pressures facing some young women.

The actress stated that she does not judge individuals engaged in sex work, adding that she understands it may sometimes be driven by urgent financial needs.

According to her, some women enter the trade as a means of survival, including supporting family members and meeting immediate responsibilities.

“If what you are doing now is being a ‘runs girl’ to make money, you don’t have to stay there. I understand it, I never judge,” she said.

Shaffy Bello, however, cautioned that women should not remain in sex work long term, urging those involved to seek other opportunities when possible.

She also advised that individuals should conduct themselves with dignity, even in difficult circumstances, a remark that has since generated mixed reactions online.

The comments have triggered debate across social media platforms, with some users criticising the framing of her advice while others argue she was highlighting harsh economic realities affecting young women.
