In a video shared on social media, Taaooma showcased large piles of refuse on a road median along the Ikotun Ejigbo Egbeda axis, where residents continued their daily routines nearby.

Tagging Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), and the state commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, she called for urgent intervention.

“What’s happening in the Ikotun Ejigbo Egbeda axis like this? @Lawma_gov @LasepaOfficial. Kindly help look into this @tokunbo_wahab,” Taaooma wrote alongside the video.

The post prompted reactions from social media users who noted that the problem is widespread. Areas such as Shomolu, Mushin, Ketu, Oshodi, Surulere, and Yaba were cited as similarly affected.

One user, ayurexars, criticised government practices, suggesting that trucks sent to pick up dumped refuse inadvertently normalise illegal dumping. Another, NejeebBello, highlighted the deteriorating sanitation conditions, warning of potential epidemics.
