Appearing recently on the Behind The Fame podcast, Afeez explained that social media made the situation spiral beyond control.

“The news of our separation went viral. And the fight became our first and the last fight as a couple. It was very serious but we later reconciled,” he said.

According to him, he initially left home in anger and intended to spend just two nights away in a hotel. But after Mide accused him of abandoning the family, he decided to extend his stay.

“She eventually came to apologise, and we reconciled. It was an issue we should have resolved between ourselves, but social media made the matter escalate even more,” Afeez admitted.

The couple, married in 2003, weathered the storm and reconciled. Mide Martins, the daughter of late actress Funmi Martins, lost her mother in 2002 before starting her life with Afeez Owo, who was her mother’s manager at the time.
