AFRIMEK Suspends Papa Show For Alleged Assault

The African Men Entertainment Kings, AFRIMEK, has suspended popular Nollywood Yoruba actor Shoneye Olamilekan, better known as Show, for physically assaulting his junior colleague, Temidayo Morakinyo.

This comes hours after the actress took to social media to call out the actor for physically assaulting her on a movie set.

In a series of posts on her Instagram story, Morakinyo narrated how the actor stormed her movie set in Ibadan, Oyo State, and beat her on Friday.

Sharing her pictures, she said Show punched her in the face and left her with a broken lip for reporting his unruly behaviour to her bosses on Thursday.

Morakinyo, however, added that her family is demanding justice as the assault left her in pain. Reacting to this in a letter signed by Femi Adebayo, AFRIMEK distanced itself from the actor and described his action as shameful.

The letter from afrimek reads: “Dear Temidayo, we received news of the mental, emotional, and physical assault meted out on you by a member of our club, Olamilekan Shoneye, popularly known as Show.

“His actions do not represent the identity that our club represents and [has] been known to project. He has been immediately sanctioned and placed on indefinite suspension, while further investigations by our disciplinary committee are ongoing to unravel the entire facts of the unfortunate incident.

“We would also like to extend our sincere apology to you. No one deserves such treatment. We will equally take up the medical charges to restore you to good health. Our gesture is to show how apologetic we are as a body.”

EFCC Arraigns Two Over Alleged £110,000 and ₦500m Fraud in Lagos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arraigned two men, Ali Bala and Yusuf Umar Anka, before the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja over alleged financial crimes involving £110,000 and ₦500 million.

The defendants were arraigned on Friday, 4 September 2026, before Justice Olukayode Ogunjobi on a 10-count charge bordering on money laundering, stealing and retention of stolen property.

One of the counts alleges that Bala, also known as Barrister Ahmed, and Anka conducted financial transactions in Lagos in 2025 involving proceeds of unlawful activities in an attempt to disguise the source of £110,000 allegedly stolen.

The commission said the alleged offence contravened Section 7(1)(b)(i) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006.

Both defendants pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them.

Following their pleas, prosecution counsel, H.U. Kofarnaisa, asked the court to adjourn the matter for trial and sought an order for the defendants to be remanded in a correctional facility.

However, defence counsel informed the court that bail applications had already been filed on behalf of the defendants.

Justice Ogunjobi subsequently adjourned the case until 8 September 2026 for hearing of the bail applications and ordered that Bala and Anka remain in EFCC custody pending the hearing.
