Baba Fokoko says MC Oluomo never promised Nollywood actors rewards for campaigning for Tinubu during the 2023 elections

Veteran Nollywood actor Alhaji Babatunde Bamgbode, popularly known as Baba Fokoko, has refuted claims by some of his colleagues that MC Oluomo failed to fulfil campaign promises made to them during the 2023 presidential election.

In the run-up to the election, several Nollywood stars including Lalude, Alapini, Toyin Abraham, Olaiye Igwe, Seyi Law, Eniola Badmus, and Foluke Daramola publicly endorsed and campaigned for President Bola Tinubu.

However, two years after Tinubu’s victory, some of the actors, including Alapini and Lalude, expressed regret over their involvement, claiming they had been abandoned despite their support.

Responding in a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Baba Fokoko clarified that the president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), MC Oluomo, never promised to reward them financially or otherwise.

“He didn’t promise to reward any of us,” the veteran actor said. “He didn’t promise me anything, but he had it in mind to treat us well. It’s been more than two years — he never promised to give anyone anything.”

Baba Fokoko further explained that MC Oluomo provided food supplies during the campaign period, which were shared among the actors.

“He brought foodstuffs for us to share during the campaign and told us to divide the rest among ourselves. We went home with those food items more than twice,” he added.
