He also made remarks involving actress Iyabo Ojo, which further fueled controversy online.

The interview triggered widespread criticism, with many accusing Biola Adebayo of giving a platform to someone convicted of offences involving a minor.

Some critics also alleged that the interview could be interpreted as encouraging or normalising abuse.

In response to the backlash, Biola Adebayo deleted the video and issued a public apology via her Instagram page.

In an emotional statement, she expressed regret and clarified that she never intended to support or defend Baba Ijesha.

“I apologise to everyone. I’m very sorry, please forgive me. I will never support a rapist or paedophile,” she said.

She explained that her intention was to conduct an interview and hear his side of the story, not to exonerate him.

Biola Adebayo also revealed that she is a survivor of sexual assault, stressing that she would never knowingly enable such behaviour.

She further dismissed claims that the interview was meant to tarnish the image of Iyabo Ojo.

According to her, her platform is open to different perspectives but does not endorse wrongdoing.
