Nyesom Wike property demolition

Martins Otse, alias VeryDarkMan, accuses FCT Minister Nyesom Wike of judicial influence after property demolition in Abuja sparks controversy.

Popular social media commentator Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has alleged that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, wields undue influence over Nigeria’s judiciary.

The accusations followed the demolition of a property reportedly located opposite Wike’s residence in Asokoro, Abuja, one of the city’s most affluent areas.

VeryDarkMan took to Instagram to voice his concerns, sharing an appeal from an individual reportedly affected by the demolition.

According to the complainant, authorities allegedly sought to seize the land for personal purposes despite the owner’s decade-long investment in its development.

“This place is said to be opposite Wike’s house, which I find very suspicious. May God not let this evil happen to us; people will rather come to VeryDarkMan than go to court for justice,” the social media critic stated.

He further criticised the state of Nigeria’s judicial system, suggesting it has been compromised by political figures like Wike.

“It is painful to think that no one believes in the justice system in Nigeria anymore because the judiciary has been allegedly bought by the likes of Nyesom Wike and his cahoots,” VeryDarkMan said.

The commentator also alleged that Wike has previously procured properties for judges, ostensibly to influence legal outcomes.

He questioned the demolition’s suddenness and the lack of proper notification, calling attention to potential security risks and the erosion of public confidence in the judiciary.

These claims have sparked public debate, with some supporting VeryDarkMan’s stance and others defending Wike. The controversy adds to ongoing discussions about governance, accountability, and the impartiality of Nigeria’s legal institutions.
