Ibrahim Chatta mourns the painful death of his son, sparking an outpouring of condolences from Nollywood colleagues and fans

The 54-year-old actor shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram Saturday, posting a photo of the late boy alongside a prayerful caption: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear son, champ.”

Chatta did not disclose details about the circumstances of his son’s passing, but the announcement quickly drew a wave of condolences from colleagues and fans who flooded his comment section with words of comfort.

The devastating loss comes just days after veteran actress Peju Ogunmola also lost her only son, Ayomikun, in Ibadan. The back-to-back tragedies have plunged Nollywood into mourning, with tributes pouring in across the industry.

This is not the first personal tragedy for Ibrahim Chatta. In June, he recalled losing his first child, a daughter, years ago due to financial hardship and inadequate medical care.

He recounted the painful memory of burying her in a wooden Coca-Cola crate after being unable to afford a coffin.
