Kunle Omisore says peace of mind matters more than love, revealing he would leave any relationship that constantly brings stress or frustration

Nollywood actor Kunle Omisore has revealed that he would choose peace of mind over romantic love, saying he would leave a relationship if his partner continually caused him stress or frustration.

Omisore made the disclosure during a recent interview while discussing relationships, emotional boundaries and the qualities he considers important in a partner.

The actor said his feelings towards a partner could change naturally when a relationship becomes a persistent source of emotional pressure.

According to Omisore, he does not believe anyone, regardless of social status, is worth sacrificing his peace of mind for.

“If it stresses me, I’m done. If a king came to a feast here, if he’s going to keep stressing me, maa salo,” he said.

The actor explained that although he may genuinely love someone, constant frustration could cause his feelings to fade without him deliberately choosing to end them.

“When I say I love you, I love you. If you frustrate me, that thing will switch off unconsciously, so I don’t control it,” Omisore said.

He said he could eventually look back at a relationship and wonder how strongly he once felt about his partner.

“And when it switches off, I will be like, ‘Oh, I really said I love you?’ That means it is switched off,” he added.

Omisore’s comments offer a candid glimpse into his approach to romantic relationships, with emotional wellbeing appearing to take precedence over maintaining a relationship at all costs.

The actor also made a humorous exception when describing the things he is willing to tolerate as sources of stress.

“I don’t just want to be stressed. The only thing that is allowed to stress me is when I don’t have money,” he said.

His remarks have sparked interest because they reflect a growing conversation around emotional boundaries and the importance of recognising when a relationship becomes unhealthy or emotionally exhausting.

Rather than presenting love as something that must survive every difficulty, Omisore’s position is that affection should not come at the expense of personal stability.
