Meet Nigerian-British-Born Actress, Beverly Naya

Her name is Beverly Ifunaya Bassey, popularly known as Beverly Naya, a Nigerian actress and screenwriter.
Beverley Naya was born on April 17, 1989 in London, England in the United Kingdom. She was born and raised in UK. She is currently 34 years old and now based in Lagos state.

Beverly Naya is originally from Igbuzor, Delta state in the south southern part of Nigeria. She is the only child of her parents.
In 2006, at the age of 17, she began her acting career.

After completing her secondary school education, Beverly Naya proceeded to Brunel University and studied psychology, philosophy and sociology. She also studied filmmaking and scriptwriting in Roehampton University in London.

After she graduated from university, she just knew that she wanted to act and in London, she could shoot a film probably once in a year and that’s it. Whereas coming to the Nigerian movie industry, she can build a brand as well as shoot films more often and be given a more diverse amount of scripts.

So, she relocated back to Nigeria and joined Nollywood because of its rapid growth, and the opportunities that it creates for aspiring actors.
Beverly Naya made her debut appearance in a Nigerian movie in titled “Leaving in Exile”.

Due to her outstanding performance in Leaving in Exile, Beverly Naya has earned several movie roles for herself in the industry acting alongside prominent A-list Nollywood actors and actresses like Deyemi Okanlawon, Kate Henshaw, Chidi Mokeme, Nancy Isime, Uche Jombo, Zubby Michael, Chioma Chukwuka, Matilda Obaseki, amongst others.
She is known for Believe in You (2020), Across the Rising Sun (2020) and Kofa (2022).

The British-born is very pretty, skillful, creative and talented actress who is good at interpreting movie roles.
She is very good in acting and also good in interpreting her roles.

Onyeka from Big Brother Naija has advised Wanni to reconsider her commitment to Shaun, suggesting she should let him earn her affection.

 

Onyeka, a housemate from Big Brother Naija ‘No Loose Guard,’ has offered relationship advice to her colleague Wanni regarding her involvement with Shaun.

Onyeka believes that Wanni is dedicating too much to Shaun and should reconsider her approach. She advised Wanni to let Shaun earn her commitment rather than giving it away too easily.

Onyeka remarked, “Even if you are sweet, men don’t understand that language. You have to let the man [Shaun] earn it.

If you [Wanni] do all that sh*t for him, he will never see you as the prize. He will see himself as the prize.” Wanni has accepted the advice, but it remains uncertain whether she will act on it.

Onyeka also shared that Shaun had previously approached her for a romantic relationship, which she declined. She alleged that Shaun had promised to leave Wanni and return to her later.

Nollywood veteran, Kanayo O. Kanayo, described men as “endangered species,” criticising wealthy men for financially favouring female actors over their male counterparts.

 

Nollywood legend Kanayo O. Kanayo has sparked discussions after describing men as “endangered species” in a recent episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, co-hosted by Husband Material and Deity Cole.

The actor expressed concern over how wealthy Nigerian men lavish money on female actors, which he believes creates an unfair dynamic.

Kanayo argued that such generous financial support for female actors makes male actors seem as though they are not working hard.

He pointed out that while women in the industry often receive millions for personal projects, male actors are left struggling.

Kanayo also noted that men, unlike women, are more likely to seek financial assistance for medical emergencies, further highlighting the gender imbalance in support within the industry.

He called for attention to this issue, emphasising that men are increasingly disadvantaged.
