The organisation, led by Rita Dominic in her capacity within the pageant structure, described the dinner as a private, invite-only event and noted that unplanned media interactions can sometimes lead to misunderstandings between guests and reporters.

It stressed that Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, a celebrated figure in the Nigerian film industry, deserved respect and careful handling, adding that the organisation stood firmly in support of her.

The statement further urged the public to show restraint and consider full context before drawing conclusions from short video clips, warning against online misinterpretation of isolated moments.

Beyond the controversy, the organisation also used the opportunity to highlight Omotola’s latest film project, Mother’s Love, which is currently showing in cinemas nationwide, with proceeds reportedly directed towards Slum2School Africa initiatives.

The Miss Nigeria Organisation, established in 1957, is one of the country’s longest-running pageant institutions, known for promoting leadership, cultural representation and empowerment programmes for young Nigerian women alongside its beauty competitions.
