Chiwetalu Agu dismisses death rumours, declaring he is alive and in good health, as the Nollywood veteran urges fans to ignore false online claims

In a video shared on Instagram on Friday, the veteran Nollywood actor urged supporters to disregard the false reports and to report the blogger responsible.

“Fans and family, please disregard any rumours about my death, and kindly report the page of the blogger who started spreading them. I am very much alive by God’s grace,” he wrote.

The 68-year-old comic star, who proudly introduced himself by his traditional title as Okenmiri n’ezoru Oha 1 of Etiti Amokwe, Enugu State, declared he would live to see his grandchildren.

“I am not going to die anytime soon. Instead, I will be the one to bury my enemies. Na who dig pit go fall inside. Na who dig grave go fall inside.

I must carry my grandchildren in good health when my children are ready,” he said.

Agu condemned those behind the fake news, noting that if a major blogger had circulated it, he would have pursued legal action for defamation and economic damage.

“What baffles me is that in this 21st century, 2025, many people are still gullible enough to believe such things without verifying the truth. Fans and families, disregard these rumours or rebuke anyone spreading such diabolical news about me,” he added.

The clarification comes after an obscure blog falsely reported that the Nollywood veteran had passed away, prompting concern and speculation among admirers.
