Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has revealed that she is recovering after surgery, sharing a hospital video weeks after the release of her directorial debut film, A Mother’s Love.

Omotola surgery recovery update came through Instagram, where the veteran actress said she discovered the saved hospital clip while clearing her phone and now had time to post it publicly.

She described the period following the launch of her debut project as a demanding journey, reflecting on the personal and professional challenges that accompanied the milestone release.

The actress premiered A Mother’s Love last month, marking a significant new chapter in a celebrated screen career that has spanned decades.

Her latest disclosure also revived memories of a health scare in 2024, when Omotola Jalade Ekeinde shared footage from a hospital bed during an undisclosed illness.

In another emotional post at the time, the actress openly showed surgical scars on her abdomen and explained that she had undergone emergency surgery, while stressing her resilience despite the experience.

The powerful recovery message has drawn warm reactions from fans, many of whom praised her candour and strength.

Beyond health matters, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has remained vocal about industry standards, previously criticising the lack of structure in Nollywood and calling for better systems, including residual payments for actors.
