Sarkodie, Wendy Shay, Bullet some other storm court over alcohol advertisements

Several well-known Ghanaians, including Sarkodie and Wendy Shay, appeared in court today to fight the FDA’s prohibition on alcohol advertising.

Ghanaian celebrities are not allowed to promote alcohol, according to a prohibition implemented by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).

Celebrities are battling the ban in court, claiming it violates their inalienable rights.

A number of celebrities, including Sarkodie, Wendy Shay, Bullet, King Promise, and others, attended the most recent court date.

Speaking following the hearing, they maintained that the FDA prohibition is ‘taking food from their tables’ and discriminating against them because they are Ghanaians.
