The tribute event, titled “An Evening of Love, Music & Memories,” is scheduled for Tuesday, August 11, at LTV 8 (Blueroof), Ikeja, Lagos, with activities expected to begin at 5pm.

Organisers said the gathering will provide an opportunity for family members, friends, fellow actors, artists and admirers to reflect on Osoba’s legacy and the impact she made during her career.

“Her voice, her art, her spirit… will remain in our hearts,” the organisers said in a message shared on the actress’s Instagram platform.

The announcement came days after Osoba’s death was confirmed by fellow actor Alesh Sanni, who paid an emotional tribute to the actress on social media.

Sanni described Osoba as his “dearest sister” and recalled the memorable moments they shared while expressing shock over her passing.

“Couldn’t sleep since last night, it’s well. Rest in peace my dearest sister, Temitope Osoba. We had amazing time and good memories together, till we meet again,” he wrote.

Actress Adeyemo Seilat also joined colleagues mourning Osoba, describing the death of young people as painful and offering prayers for her peaceful rest.

Osoba’s passing came about two years after she publicly revealed her battle with cancer and appealed for support during her treatment.

Following her recovery, the actress announced her return to Nollywood in August 2025, describing her health experience as a transformative period that renewed her commitment to acting and advocacy.

In a message to fans and supporters at the time, Osoba said she was returning to the entertainment industry with a stronger focus on healing, personal growth and empowerment.

She also expressed her desire to use her platform to raise awareness about cancer and encourage others facing similar health challenges.

Osoba thanked her management team and supporters for standing by her throughout her health struggles, while also indicating that she was open to acting projects, endorsements and collaborations.

Following news of her death, her family appealed for caution over unverified reports concerning the circumstances surrounding her passing.

In a statement issued through her official social media page, the Awonuga/Osoba family described some claims circulating online as “false, speculative, and entirely unauthorized.”

The family urged the public and media organisations to respect their privacy during the grieving period, adding that any official information would be released through authorised channels.

Known for her roles in Yoruba-language Nollywood productions, Osoba was remembered by colleagues and fans as a talented performer whose work contributed to the growth of the industry.
