Nollywood actress Tayo Adeniyi advises women not to make marriage and children the centre of their lives, urging them to embrace purpose and self-worth

The actress shared the message in a video posted on her social media page, where she encouraged women to “de-centre” marriage and children while focusing on their personal happiness, growth and purpose.

Adeniyi addressed women who have struggled to find partners or have children, urging them not to lose their sense of self because of societal expectations.

“You can be a whole you without having kids, without having a man in your life. Just get your life together. A whole life doesn’t have to be with a man or with kids,” she said.

The actress warned women against remaining in unhealthy relationships or making desperate decisions simply because they want to be married or become mothers.

According to her, marriage and parenthood can be meaningful experiences but should not determine a woman’s worth or identity.

She added that women can still build fulfilling lives through purpose, personal development, service, peace and love.

In a separate Instagram post, Adeniyi clarified that choosing not to centre life around marriage or children does not mean rejecting them.

“They can be beautiful blessings, but they are not the only measure of a meaningful life,” she wrote.
