Temitope Osoba death claims deepen as fiancé Itunu Onadeko disputes cancer and poisoning reports and alleges she died in police custody

Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba’s fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has raised fresh claims about her death in Lagos on Monday, 10 August 2026, alleging that the actress died at a police station in Ikorodu while disputing reports that cancer or poisoning caused her death.

Onadeko made the claims during an interview while responding to reports and allegations that have emerged since Osoba’s death.

He rejected claims that the actress died from cancer, saying he was informed that she had died while in police custody.

“In my own understanding, Temitope did not die from cancer. I received a call around midnight from someone who told me she had died at a police station in Ikorodu,” Onadeko said.

His account adds a new and serious dimension to the circumstances surrounding the actress’s death, although the allegation about her death in police custody has not been independently established in the information available.

Onadeko also denied reports suggesting that Osoba was poisoned or neglected, as well as allegations that money raised for her medical treatment had been mismanaged.

He further rejected claims that the actress was subjected to degrading treatment while in custody, including allegations that faeces or urine were poured on her.

The claims come against the backdrop of Osoba’s previously publicised battle with breast cancer.

In 2025, Osoba spoke openly about her diagnosis after discovering a lump in her breast.

She underwent surgery and later revealed that further medical tests showed the cancer had not spread. She subsequently underwent another procedure and said she had been declared cancer-free.

The actress had also returned to the entertainment industry after her treatment, describing the experience as a turning point and saying she wanted to use her platform to promote cancer awareness and encourage others facing similar challenges.

Her earlier account of the illness made the latest claims surrounding her death particularly significant, as questions about her health have now become intertwined with competing accounts of what happened before her death.

Onadeko’s comments are therefore likely to intensify calls for clarity over the circumstances surrounding the actress’s final hours.
