Toyin Abraham Abike Shuga fallout response as Nollywood actress addresses allegations, clarifies payments and industry support

Toyin Abraham, a Nollywood actress and filmmaker, has responded to allegations made by Olawuni Oluwapelumi Abike, popularly known as Abike Shuga, following a public fallout between both parties on social media in Lagos on Monday.

The fallout response came via the actress’s official X handle, where she addressed claims surrounding alleged mistreatment and professional disagreements.

The filmmaker stated that she had supported Abike in previous projects and clarified that the actress was duly paid for her roles, including in the production Malaika.

Abraham explained that she is known in the industry for supporting emerging talents and investing in upcoming actors, stressing that her actions were often driven by goodwill rather than obligation.

“I have made up my mind never to say anything cos I see her as my daughter,” she wrote, adding that the matter originally started on social media.

She further noted that Abike was paid 500,000 naira for her role in Malaika, describing it as a fair arrangement within the industry and stating that she takes pride in supporting young creatives.
