The Toyin Abraham box office award was presented on Thursday, 19 March, at a formal ceremony attended by NFVCB Director-General Shaibu Husseini and Olori Temitope Ogunwusi, wife of the Ooni of Ife.

The award recognises Abraham’s remarkable box office performance, particularly her recent achievement with the cinema film Oversabi Aunty, which grossed over N1 billion and positioned her among Nollywood’s highest-earning filmmakers.

She also made history as the first debut director in Nollywood to surpass the N1 billion milestone, further strengthening her reputation as one of the industry’s most commercially successful figures.

The recognition adds to a growing list of accolades for the actress, who previously earned the Trailblazer Award at the Silverbird Man of the Year ceremony in 2024 for her contributions to redefining modern Nollywood storytelling and production standards.

In 2025, Abraham’s film Alakada Bad and Boujee was ranked among the top five highest-grossing Nollywood releases of all time, cementing her consistent presence at the top of the industry’s box office charts.

The Toyin Abraham box office award highlights her continued rise as a dominant force in Nigerian cinema, with industry observers crediting her commercial appeal and audience engagement strategy for her sustained success.

Reacting to her achievements in earlier statements, Abraham has often described her journey as one shaped by resilience, adding that hard work, persistence, and passion have been central to her career growth.
