Young John best musicians debate

Young John, known for hits like “Dada” and “Xtra Cool”, laments his exclusion from best musician debates, citing his producer beginnings.

Young John, the acclaimed singer and music producer, has voiced his frustration over being overlooked in conversations about the best musicians in the country.

The “Dada” hitmaker attributed this exclusion to his roots as a producer, rather than a singer, at the start of his career.

Taking to his X handle, Young John expressed his sentiments, stating, “I see how you all leave me out of conversations prolly cos I started out as a producer. Continue! Time will tell!”

The talented artist initially rose to fame as an in-house producer for YBNL Nation, where he played a pivotal role in crafting chart-topping hits for notable artistes such as Lil Kesh and Olamide.

However, his transition from producer to singer marked a significant turning point in his career.

After parting ways with YBNL, Young John signed with Chocolate City, under which he launched his singing career. Since then, he has delivered a string of successful tracks, including “Dada,” “Xtra Cool,” “Big Big Things,” “Bahamas,” and “Stronger,” among others.

Despite his success, the artiste feels his contributions to the music industry are often undervalued due to his unconventional career trajectory.
