Yvonne Jegede defends Regina Daniels, slams critics and colleagues mocking her alleged marital ordeal with Sen. Ned Nwoko, urging victims to prioritise safety

Yvonne Jegede defends Regina Daniels as she reacts to the ongoing marital drama between the Nollywood star and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. Jegede criticised those mocking Regina’s emotional outburst and invalidating her cry for help.

Taking to her Instagram page, Jegede said it was disheartening that people were more focused on Regina’s wealth than her alleged suffering.

“A young girl has come out to cry for help, that she’s been violated in her home. And the first thing you people would think of is, ‘Are you not married to a rich man?’ If she was married to a poor man and he was beating her, would that make a difference?” she said.

The actress also chastised some of her senior colleagues who publicly ridiculed Regina online.

“Shame on you. Everybody has a story. All of us, we have a story… So to stand up now and you’re laughing at somebody just because her story has gone the other way, you think you are better?” Jegede added.

She further urged victims of domestic violence to put their safety and mental health first, stressing that no relationship is worth dying for.

“Once violence is involved, I will not sugarcoat it. I will tell you to leave — be it a woman or a man… It is better for you to live to tell the story than to stay and die,” she concluded.
