Nigerian actor Adeniyi Johnson recounts a near-robbery experience in Lagos, criticising the effectiveness of current security measures

Popular Nigerian actor Adeniyi Johnson has taken to social media to voice his concerns over the state of security in Lagos State, urging security agencies to improve their efforts.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Johnson shared his harrowing experience of almost being robbed in the city.

Expressing his frustration, Johnson wrote, “Lagos needs better security than those stop and search that ask ‘oga how weekend’ and ‘anything for us’?”.

He lamented the current security situation, stating that he narrowly avoided being robbed due to his quick thinking and vigilance.

“Got back to my country, I mean my country and na robbery dem take welcome me. Thank God for smartness and alertness,” the actor recounted.

Detailing the incident, Johnson revealed that this was the second time he had been involved in such a near-robbery.

“It all happened within 15 seconds. I heard a big bang on my windshield and the next thing I saw were 3 thugs all over my car.

This happened after Alapere! Once you descend from the Third Mainland Bridge and approaching secretariat before Magodo! Guys please stay woke be safe!! I forgot to mention this is the second time I’m experiencing this. God keep keeping us,” he shared.

The Nollywood actor accompanied his post with a video showcasing the damage inflicted on his vehicle during the attempted robbery.

Amidst his ordeal, Johnson also used the opportunity to congratulate his colleagues who had won awards at the recently concluded Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Johnson’s post adds to the growing concerns among Lagos residents regarding the effectiveness of security measures in the state and highlights the vulnerability faced by individuals even in seemingly busy areas.
