Afrobeats takes Japan: Rema, Ruger, Gyakie headline Afro Jam Festival

 Afrobeat stars Rema, Ruger, and Gyakie are set to electrify Japan this July, headlining the Afro Jam Festival. A global celebration of music and culture

Japan prepares to welcome a vibrant explosion of African and Caribbean rhythms as the highly anticipated Afro Jam Festival 2025 announces its stellar line-up.

Leading the charge are Nigerian Afrobeats sensations Rema and Ruger, alongside Ghanaian songstress Gyakie, promising a series of electrifying performances across multiple Japanese cities.

The Afro Jam Festival, renowned for its eclectic mix of global sounds, will see Rema captivate audiences in Okinawa on July 20th, Osaka on July 22nd, and Tokyo on July 27th.

Ruger is set to thrill fans in Osaka on July 23rd and Tokyo on July 25th, showcasing his distinctive Afrobeats style. Gyakie, with her soulful vocals, will perform in Okinawa on July 18th, Osaka on July 24th, and conclude her tour in Tokyo on July 27th.

Adding to the festival’s diverse appeal, South African duo TitoM & Yuppe, whose hit ‘Tshwala Bam’ has taken the world by storm, will perform at the Musashino Forest Sports Plaza on July 26th.

The festival’s impressive roster also boasts international stars such as Jason Derulo, Shenseea, The Wailers, and Saweetie, creating a melting pot of musical cultures.

The Afro Jam Festival has solidified its position as a premier event, drawing artists and music enthusiasts from around the globe.

This year’s edition promises an unforgettable celebration of Afrobeats, Caribbean beats, and a fusion of international sounds, highlighting the increasing global influence of African music.

The festival’s multi-city format ensures that fans across Japan will have the opportunity to experience the dynamic performances of these leading artists.
