Ajosepo 2 production saw major challenges, says Kayode Kasum as filming wraps in Ogun State ahead of cinema release

Film director Kayode Kasum has revealed that the Ajosepo 2 production was an intense and demanding process, describing the experience as one that “felt almost impossible” as filming wrapped in Ogun State.

The sequel to the 2024 comedy drama was shot at KAP Film Village and Resort, a facility founded by filmmaker Kunle Afolayan.

Kasum shared images from the set on Instagram, reflecting on the challenges faced during production. The director cited conflicting schedules among cast and crew as a major hurdle, noting that maintaining a positive mindset was crucial in navigating the pressure.

He said the scale of coordination required for the Ajosepo 2 production tested the team, but collective effort ultimately drove the project forward.

The director emphasised that filmmaking is a collaborative process, expressing gratitude to the cast and crew for their commitment.

Kasum also highlighted the production environment at the film village, describing it as supportive and well-organised, allowing participants to remain focused and energised throughout the shoot. The setting, he noted, contributed to the overall creative output of the team.

The upcoming film builds on the success of the original Ajosepo, which followed a young couple navigating family tensions and hidden secrets ahead of their wedding.

The sequel is expected to deliver a more intense and entertaining storyline, with a larger cast and heightened drama.
