Famous Nollywood actor and model, Alexx Ekubo has addressed critics who are curious about his marital status.

Alexx Ekubo and Fancy Acholonu were once upon a time an item. They were not just an item, theirs was a dream romance, what with the fact they are both celebrities, actors and models.

In December 2021, Acholonu called off her wedding to Ekubo. She, however, apologised to the film star a year later for calling off their wedding.

Achonolu also revealed why she broke up with the actor in January 2023.

Acholonu affirmed her love for the actor, saying that “like our shirt says, Nothing makes sense when we’re apart @alexxekubo you still have my heart.

“I miss you, I love you, and I’m truly sorry for all the hurt & pain you and your family went through with our breakup” she added.

She noted how her actions were out of character and she has realised that she could have controlled her emotions and not have been so overreactive.

However, Ekubo in a post via his Instagram page on Monday, implied that he was aware that some people are curious that he is yet to be married.

The film star, said he is more interested in making money. He urged people not to bother about his marital status.

“You go just dey your own dey find money, another person go dey one corner dey reason why you never marry,” he wrote in pidgin English.

In a previous post on Valentine’s Day, the 37-year-old actor wrote: “some believe I am single, others believe I am taken. Amid the confusion, I urge you all to believe in Jesus.

“Happy Valentine’s Day from your favourite Human Being.”

In February 2023, Ekubo revealed he was no longer interested in anything that would lead to marriage.

“Me wey don log out from anything wey go lead to a wedding,” he wrote.

Ekubo has established himself as a popular name in the Nigerian movie landscape since his film debut in ‘Sinners in the House’ in 2005.

He has featured in hundreds of Nollywood movies including ‘The Blood Covenant, ‘Bling Lagosians’, and ‘Omo Ghetto: The Saga’.
