When asked about her choice of colour, she explained its significance to Saturday Beats: “Green is a new beginning and the land is green,” she said, adding that her outfit, styled by celebrity fashion mogul Medlin Boss, reflected her personal journey of renewal.

While presenting the award for “Best Afrobeat Singer of the Year,” Macaulay nearly introduced herself using her estranged husband’s surname. “Annie Idi… Oh sorry, Annie Macaulay.
