The media personality said the fashion challenge had sparked thoughts of recreating the era’s colourful and unmistakable aesthetic for her upcoming birthday celebration.

“All the 80s look is inspiring me to throw an 80s party this year for my birthday. Shall we?” she wrote.

Toke then highlighted some of the fashion details she would like guests to embrace, including big hair, baggy jeans, oversized jackets, large-buckle belts, shiny dresses and statement earrings.

“I mean, since we all want to bring back the big hair, baggy jeans, oversized jackets, big buckle belts, shiny dresses, and earrings,” she added.

The proposed celebration would give guests an opportunity to revisit one of fashion’s most recognisable eras, when bold silhouettes, bright colours and dramatic accessories dominated popular style.

For Toke, the appeal appears to be rooted in the playful nostalgia surrounding the current 80s fashion challenge.

She teased the possibility of the celebration as November approaches, writing, “November is not too far away, shall we?”

The media personality ended her post with an enthusiastic reaction, saying, “I am gagged already”, suggesting that she is already imagining how the retro-inspired celebration could come together.
