‘Children’s Day’ BON Awards to donate 1000 free facemasks in Ekiti May 27

The Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards has thrown its weight behind the Ekiti State government in its fight against the spread of COVID-19.

Recall that executive governor of the state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, recently stated that the civil servants and top government officials voluntarily donated N48.71 million to the fight against novel virus.

In order to also support the cause and in commemoration of the 2020 Children’s Day celebration, the organisers of BON Awards has decided to donate free facemasks to 1000 children in the state.

According to a statement e-signed by the media executive of BON Awards, Ojelabi Victor, a popular Nollywood actress would be handling the donation come May 27, 2020.

“The delectable Nollywood actress, Jumoke Otedola, aside from coordinating the donation of 1000 BON Awards facemasks, would also be on hand to make this year’s celebration a day to remember for the children.

“Kindly note that the distribution has also been structured in a way to guarantee the safety of these children,” he concluded.

BON Awards is a leading and most consistent Nigerian movie industry award event which annually rewards outstanding achievements in Nollywood.

In a related development, the founder and chief managing director of BON Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, noted that submissions for 2020 edition will be done online only.

“Submissions of entries for 2020 edition are already ongoing online and closes by June 30.

“Therefore, I appeal to practitioners not to miss out as entries are done only online in order to also help contain the spread of COVID-19,” Oloketuyi revealed.

The 2020 Best of Nollywood Awards is scheduled to hold in Ekiti State later in the year.
