Chris Ihidero’s Aloma Set for 2026 International Premiere

Chris Ihidero’s Aloma, a Nigerian thriller, is set for a 2026 international premiere, highlighting social divides and resilience in urban Nigeria

PinPoint Productions has announced Aloma, the debut feature film from acclaimed Nigerian filmmaker Chris Ihidero, with an international premiere scheduled for 2026. A teaser has been released, offering audiences an early glimpse of the thriller.

Written and directed by Ihidero, Aloma is set in urban Nigeria and examines the social divide between the wealthy and the poor. The director drew inspiration from his upbringing in Lagos neighbourhoods, including Oshodi and Shomolu.

The confirmed cast includes Shawn Faqua, Folu Storms, Asa’ah Samuel, Kalu Ikeagwu, Segun Arinze, Tina Mba, Juliet Ibrahim, and Elvina Ibru. Musical artist Ayo Maff makes his acting debut, contributing an original song to the project.

Wole Ajetomobi, Head of Productions at PinPoint Media, said, “We believe Aloma is a film that transcends regional boundaries, telling a deeply human story with universal themes of love, struggle, and resilience in the modern African context.”

Ihidero, who has extensive experience in television, journalism, and academia, previously served as COO of Amaka Igwe Studios and was head writer and story editor for notable MNet series including Hush and Forbidden.

He founded PinPoint Media in 2014, which manages the Lagos Film Academy and True Nollywood Stories platforms.

Ajetomobi added that the collaboration between Ihidero, the dedicated cast and crew, and strategic financial backing from MBO Capital has enabled the creation of a project of exceptional quality, poised to set a new benchmark for African cinema.

Development of Aloma began in 2016, with the first draft completed during the 2023 pandemic. MBO Capital, which supports initiatives from Nemsia Studios, First Features, and BRS Studios, continues to back the production.
