Michael traced his rise to fame back to his debut in Return of Shina Rambo, directed by Ilochi Olisemeka, which set him on a path of “bad boy” roles in movies like German Machine, Who Killed Abobi, Convenient of Money, Secret of Zubby, Flashback, The Assassin, and The Clash.

The turning point came when he met Zubby Michael on a film set. To his surprise, Zubby encouraged him to avoid negative influences and focus on building his career.

“He told me I am a star and should stay focused. I was shocked because I thought he was a bad boy due to his movie roles. But that day, he carried me along on set and made me feel comfortable.

Thank God for today because I was once a bad boy, and thanks to Zubby for advising me,” Michael said.

The encounter blossomed into a genuine friendship, with many mistaking them for brothers due to their shared surname. Michael stressed that acting is his divine calling, even though he once envisioned a white-collar career after university.

He also advised aspiring actors to achieve financial independence before entering Nollywood, explaining that self-sufficiency allowed him to survive the challenges of the industry.

“Coming up, I had a car and could take care of myself. It wasn’t easy, but if I had family or industry support, it would have been less difficult,” he noted.
