Afrobeats superstar Davido says he feels he is not adequately credited for his significant 15-year contribution and impact on the Nigerian music industry

Popular Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, globally recognized as Davido, has expressed his sentiment that he is not receiving sufficient recognition for his substantial impact on the Nigerian music industry over his 15-year career.

In a recent interview with content creator Egungun of Lagos, Davido stated, “I have been conquering the music industry for 15 years, but the crazy thing is that people don’t give me my flowers [credits] that I deserve.”

When Egungun inquired about the existence of haters, Davido responded, “There are haters, but when I go everywhere, they love me, so I’m like, where are the haters?”

Despite his feeling of being underappreciated, Davido stands as one of the most decorated artists in both Nigeria and Africa.

His recent accolades include winning the prestigious Artist of the Year and Digital Artiste of the Year awards at the 17th edition of The Headies Awards held in Lagos.
