Nollywood actress Diana Nyeche expressed shock after being named the Best Controversial Actress in Nollywood for 2025 during an award appreciation night in Asaba, Delta State.

In a video shared on Instagram, Nyeche appeared momentarily speechless as she received the plaque, admitting she had not expected her name to be called.

“I can’t believe I was given an award as the Best Controversial Actress in Nollywood. This one shocked me when my name was announced – the first blur!!” she said on stage, drawing laughter from the audience.

Clarifying that controversy is not central to her persona, Nyeche dedicated the award to her late mother, Mrs Gold Kechi Nyeche, and thanked organisers, CHEETAHS Paradise, for recognising her contributions to Nollywood.

Despite the surprise, she embraced the recognition, with fans sharing lighthearted reactions online about the unexpected accolade.
